Auckland Rugby League’s TOP 20 Referees!

New Auckland Rugby League Referees Appointee, Leon Williamson, has been reminding all involved throughout the year of the training programes and expectations he has for referees to succeed as officials in the game of rugby league. Those who picked up the gauntlet and ran with it have shown up in the new TOP 20 referees announced this week.
It is great to see some young new referees staking their claim for recognitionby training hard and performing well on the field once given the chance. Congratulations must go to all those who made the list, and to those who did not…the challenge is there for you to accept!

Similarly, a big congratulations to the new Junior TOP 5. Grades from U13 to U16 are becoming faster and more skilled, and you have worked hard to get on to this list when most are early in your careers. With about 10 new young referees this year, the pressure will go on everyone to keep improving so that you do not get overtaken.
