General Description
- To co-ordinate and manage all aspects of the playing of rugby league within the club
- To improve the playing and coaching standards at levels within the club
REPORT TO: Club executive and Committee
Accountable for
- Assist in the identification and appointment of appropriately qualified coaches, manages and trainers.
- Co-ordinate team trials with the respective team coaches.
- Act as a contact point for any enquiries from potential new players.
- Liaise with the Club Development Officer for the ongoing development of players, coaches and managers.
- Liaise between teams and the club’s executive
- Ensure coaches and managers receive correspondence relating to them from the ARL.
- Ensure coaches and managers know and understand the rules and structure of the competition that their team is entered into.
- Manage gear requirements for all teams – identify what is required and liaise with Club Gear manager to access.

- Co-ordinate the return of senior team cards to the club secretary for return to ARL in some clubs the Club Captain will return all team cards to the ARL directly.
- Co-ordinate the setting up of the club’s fields for senior home games, ensure changing rooms and other facilities are open and clean and tidy. Coordinate the packing up of the club fields at the end of the day.
- Co-ordinate and run weekly after match senior prize giving.
- Support the club treasurer and team managers in the collection of all fees.
- Liaise with the club secretary and team managers to maintain an accurate Player Database.
- Proactively support and assist the junior club captain successfully complete his/her role.
- Be available to open and close the club if necessary.
- Assist/co-ordinate the organisation of the end of season senior prize giving.
- Ensure all coaches and manages are recognised for their efforts.
- Visibly support the club by attending games on a regular basis and promote the principles of fair play.
- Positively and pro-actively promote the club in the local community.
- Help the club to stay in good working order – cleaning, working bees.
- If not a committee member attend club committee meetings when requested.
- Attend to any other matters as allocated by the club committee.
- Assist host club sponsors on games days and at club functions.
- Be compliant with the club’s constitution.
- Regularly review this job description and ensure it remains appropriate and ensure the next person taking over the role is prepared and the transfer is completed smoothly with the minimum of disruption.
