Travel Policy

The New Zealand Rugby League policy regarding touring teams is as follows: -

    1. Applications for inter-District / Zone fixtures must be lodged with the New Zealand Rugby League four (4) weeks prior to the departure date
    2. Applications for teams planning to tour overseas – Expression of interest must be lodged with the New Zealand Rugby League one (1) year prior to departure date.
    3. Formal applications to tour overseas must be completed and lodged with the NZRL three (3) months prior to departure date.
    4. Note: – Overseas Tours will only be considered for team 13 years or over.
  1. All Coaching Staff must have NZRL Senior Club Coach Qualifications or higher.
  2. Application must include the following:
    1. Destination
    2. Host Club / Body
    3. Full itinerary / game schedule for the proposed tour
    4. Number of touring party
    5. Age group of touring party
    6. Proposed budget of tour and explanation of how funds generated / raised
    7. Purpose of tour
  3. Copy of Documentation from the Inviting Body.
  4. Endorsement from the team / club Governing League / Association supporting the application to tour.
  5. Teams travelling overseas must supply copy of Club/Team colours and team logo. (This needs NRL Approval).
  6. Inter Zone / International tour applications will be considered on their merits.
  7. Application requires written support from the District/State/National or other affiliated body.
