Program Overview:
- The Regional Representative Programme is a 3 match “Region of Origin” series played post club season with the exception of the 13 and 14’s;
- It is played in the U/13, U/14, U/16, U/18, U/20 grades and in 2012 expanded into the OAR and Premier 2nd grades;
- New grades included for 2013 are - U14/15 Restricted and U16/17 Restricted
- It is an opportunity not only for players but for team coaches, managers, trainers and masseurs to progress through representative pathways;
- For team official positions, appointments are made from application following an advertising process;
- Appointments are made by an Independent Panel and preference is given to appointing team officials from within their region and the grade they are involved with where possible;
- For players, eligibility is open to any player that is eligible for the grade in that regions boundaries. Clubs are divided into ‘North v South’ as per Akarana and Counties Manukau Zones;
- At the conclusion of the respective grades 3 match series, an Auckland Representative Merit team is selected.
