Auckland Rugby League whanau extends our congratulations to Gary Whittle, appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to rugby league in this years New Years Honours.

Gary is an ARL Life Member, has served Auckland Rugby League as a volunteer, referee, Administrator, Ground Announcer, Time Keeper, Match Manager, Committee member, Vice-Chairperson, ARL Independent Judicial Panel Chair, Hall of Fame and Immortals Panel, Board Member Clubs of Auckland and President of Auckland Rugby League for 25 years.

Gary was an executive member of the Auckland Rugby League Referees Association from 1977 until 1981 and in 1982 was elected Vice President.

In 1996 Gary was elected a Life Member of the Auckland Rugby League Referees Association.
