League is us.

Auckland Rugby League has launched a new campaign to promote the connection, inclusion and unity of our great game. “League Is Us” is more than a slogan, it’s a statement about identity, community, and the true heartbeat of rugby league across Auckland.

For generations, rugby league has often been defined by what happens on the field, the collisions, the scorelines, the rivalries. But the reality is far bigger than just eighty minutes of football. League lives in families, homes, volunteers, clubs and communities. It shows up in early morning trainings, sideline support crews, shared meals, and lifelong friendships.

'League Is Us' shifts the narrative from what rugby league looks like, to what rugby league feels like.

“League Is Us” recognises that the game belongs to everyone who gives their time, energy, and passion to it.  Players. Whānau. Coaches. Referees. Volunteers. Supporters. Groundskeepers. Content creators. Junior clubs. Senior clubs. Every role matters. Every story counts.

Across Auckland, rugby league is one of the most diverse and community-driven sports environments in the country. It brings together cultures, backgrounds, and generations under one sport.

Rather than focusing only on elite outcomes, “League Is Us” celebrates participation, opportunity, and belonging. It tells the stories happening behind the scenes, the coach who never misses a training, the parent running the canteen every weekend, the young player finding confidence through team work, the club that feels like a second home, the spectators on the sidelines.

It supports pathways for boys, girls, women, and men. It creates leadership opportunities. It builds life skills. It connects neighbourhoods & builds community.

The message is simple and powerful: rugby league is for everyone, rugby league is us.

Because at its core, league is more than sport.

League is us.
