U12/13 Restricted Grade – South 30 North 0

For the second-straight game South kept North scoreless, running out 30-0 winners to secure the U12/13 Restricted Grade title. Kelepi Manuika grabbed a double for South, who led 22-0 at half-time.

U13 Girls exhibition match – Auckland Vulcans 64 Northland 0

The Auckland Vulcans ran out victors in their one-off clash against a touring Northland selection, who displayed admirable character despite the one-sided scoreline. Zahnia Papali’i, Taleenza Nelson and Sariah Talitau all scored doubles in the win.

U13 Open – North 16 South 10

A week three decider will be required in the U13 Open Grade, with North completing an impressive seven-day transformation to beat South, having gone down 28-4 in week one. A first-half hat-trick to Raphael Sio set North up with a 12-point lead at the break, but they had to survive a late comeback which saw South score inside the final two minutes and set up a thrilling final set.

U14 Open – North 18 South 18

A missed field goal on the siren left the U14 Open series still to be decided in week three, with South surviving a late raid from North to secure a draw. Having lost in the dying minutes last week, South started nervously but quickly found their feet, and were helped along by a hat-trick to Taniela Mapusua-Lotaki. North rallied late and attempted a winning field goal on the last play of the game, but it was waved away.

U14/15 Restricted – North 32 South 4

North powered to the 14/15 Restricted title with a convincing victory in Game 2. Up 10-0 at the break, North found another level in the second period. North scored five tries, with the accurate boot of Jaydee Richardson extending the gap along the way.

U18 Open – North 34 South 22

A star showing from fullback Hayden McLeod-Crumpe helped North overcome South in the second half and claim the U18 Open title. A closely-contested first half saw North take an 18-16 lead into the sheds, and from there they ran away with the game. McLeod-Crumpe finished the match having scored 14 of his team’s points, via a try and five conversions.

U16 Open – South 18 North 14

South edged past a dogged North in the U16 Open Grade, securing the title after also being winners on Game Day 1 last week. The three tries to two victory included four-pointers to hooker Daniel Duplesis, centre Jarney Proctor-Harwood and Richmond flyer Jeremiah Margraff.
