Intermediate School Rugby League and Kiwi Tag

​​​​Intermediate Rugby League tournaents are delivered by the Auckland Rugby League in five individual zones. Girls grades are played under modified 9 A-side rules. Boys grades are played under modified International rules.

Four zones are:

• North Harbour
• West/Waitkere
• Eastern
• Central

There are four playing grades:

• Girls Under 55kg
• Boys Under 55kg
• Girls Open Weight
• -Boys Open weight

Remember no mouth guard, NO play.

The ARL can provide a free pre-tournament lunch time coaching session for either rugby league or Kiwi Tag, running games for the kids, teaching skills and getting the team ready for their school zone tournament.

Schools must register a team before they request a coaching session and teachers must be present.

Intermediate Kiwi Tag Festivals are delivered by Auckland Rugby League across five individual zones. Both boy’s and girl’s grades are played under the Kiwi Tag intermediate school rules.

The five zones are:

• North Harbour
• West/Waitakere
• Central
• Eastern
• Southern

There are two playing grades:

• Girls
• Boys

Free Coaching Session

Auckland Rugby League can provide a free pre-tournament coaching session for all the children who will be involved, running games for the kids, teaching them skills, and getting them ready for their school zone festival.

Schools must register a team to the festival before they request a coaching session, they also must have a teacher present during the session.
