Vale Keith Bell


The Auckland Rugby League extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of former Ponsonby Ponies and Auckland representative Keith Bell, who passed away on Monday, December 18.

Bell was part of Auckland league history in 1958, playing in the first ever Fox Memorial Grand Final (prior to that a different system had been used to determine the winner), helping Ponsonby to a 16-7 victory over Otahuhu on that day.

Earlier in his career the versatile forward also helped Auckland to victory over the touring French in 1955 and was selected by the Kiwis at the 1957 World Cup.
